Spinal Manipulation and Home Exercise Advice Best

In terms of dollars and relief, spinal manipulation (chiropractic’s forte!) and home exercise advice are it! They result in better clinical outcomes and lower societal costs for older adults with chronic neck pain compared with home exercise alone and even supervised exercise with home exercise. (1) Our Easley chiropractic patients see that Young Chiropractic combines these approaches - particularly our Cox Technic form of spinal manipulative treatment - when we talk about the chiropractic treatment plan we make just for you.

Anti-Inflammatory Diet Helps Reduce Pain

Inflammation affects the body, its heart, its skin, its spinal elements, etc. Inflammation leads to pain.  An anti-inflammatory diet may result in reduced pain. Incorporating more fiber, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains and even substituting dark chocolate with 70% cocoa may make the diet transition a little easier! (2) Young Chiropractic bets that your body and your spine will thank you and reward you with reduced pain!

Don’t Let Back Pain Slow You Down!

Older adults with chronic low back pain have a more difficult time being mobile. Mobility plays a big role in how active a person is. If you hurt, you don’t move around much. That makes sense. Researchers suggest that when back pain patients hurt, flexion helps. When there’s no pain, extension is helpful as it strengthens the back muscles that don’t often get used. (3) Another study reports that a stabilization exercise protocol may well improve clinical and physical findings in patients with chronic low back pain. (4) That’s why Young Chiropractic encourages our Easley chiropractic patients, young and old, to move!

Muscle Degeneration Comes After Back Surgery

Most of the muscle degeneration after back surgery is fatty change to the spine. 82% of patients show this fatty degenerative change.  Such degeneration may well lead to more back pain. (5) Chiropractic care at Young Chiropractic can pick up here and help post-surgical patients with re-conditioning their spine muscles after a Easley back surgery. All it takes is an appointment to get started!
